Here Comes Mighty Migs

It all started with a simple dream... that someday; a boy will be sent by the heavens above and will give new colours to this extra ordinary love. He became an inspiration even though his not yet conceived. His presence, even just in our daydreams is powerful enough that we stood still even in the most robust storm.

15 May 2010, around 4:00 PM in the afternoon, I received the great news; he was finally ready to meet us in this world. Though I’m not outside that delivery room when he’s coming out, the feeling is just the same miles away from his side, or should I say maybe being that far is twice as difficult, I had nobody to talk to, nobody to comfort me and say calm down and relax.

At 5:59 PM of the 15th of May 2010, the true meaning of life for me has started. The long wait is over, and I am so pleased to announce to the whole world, I am now a certified father!

Though I had to spend four more sleepless nights before I can be with my little boy, believe me when say my friends that the wait was worth it! After taking the longest flight of my life (beating my Philippines to Benin flight), I don’t know how to describe my feeling when I first met and kissed him... I don’t know if there’s a phrase to illustrate the happiness I felt when he held my hand and somewhat smile at me. All I know is that I spent the next three hours just staring at him while carrying him in my arms. A lot of things ran through my mind, like what are things that he will like? What are the traits that he will get from me or from his mom? Will he also like my brand of music? Will he sing With a Smile with me? Will there will be a time that he will tie his sneakers, will come to me and say that, “I wannabe like Mike”? When he grew up, what will he want to be, an engineer? A doctor? A musician? Will he also love photography and play video games with me? Whatever he wants I think I’ll always be there beside him. Just don’t try to curl your hair and polish your fingernails, everything will be fine son.

For now, I’ll just cherish and enjoy my moments with my little prince. And I’m warning all the bugs in this world not to get near my boy or they’ll gonna regret the day they were born. Also, I think I’ll have to forget my landscape or night photography for a while since I’ll be busy shooting more portraits of the newest star in the family. I will also spend more time with my new hobby, oh no it’s not a new game in my ps3... my favourite pastime nowadays is assisting him as he sucks all the milk out of his feeding bottle!

Hello world, here comes Miguel Rheiniel Villegas, my little Migs!
